Ambitorio is a company that offers a secure solution for the confidential transmission of highly sensitive information.

1.2 Who can use Ambitorio?

Ambitorio is intended for anyone who wants to quickly and securely transmit confidential information (e.g. images, videos or contracts) in a controlled manner.

1.3 What distinguishes Ambitorio from other data services?

Ambitorio uses verifiable blockchain technology that can permanently ensure the security of your data.

1.4 When was Ambitorio founded?

Ambitorio was founded in December 2017 by Andrij Sytnyk and Thomas Friedrich.

1.5 Where is Ambitorio located?

The head office is located at Schutzengelstrasse 36 in 6340 Baar/ZG, Switzerland.

1.6 Is Ambitorio compatible with the GDPR?

Yes, Ambitorio and the GDPR take personal data protection as a basis. That’s why both are not only compatible but also complementary.

2. Basics: App download, installation and updates.

2.1 Is my device compatible with the Ambitorio App?

Android: The Ambitorio App is optimized for Android devices with version 7 and above. iOS: The Ambitorio App is optimized for iOS devices with version 6 and above.

2.2 How can i install Ambitorio?

(Android) Tap on “Play Store” and then click on “Search for Apps & Games”. Type “Ambitorio” and select the app from the search list. Click Install to set up the app on your device.
(iPhone) Tap on “App Store” and then click on the “Magnifying Glass” to search for the app. Type “Ambitorio” in the search field and select the app from the search list. With a click on Load, the app is set up on the device.

2.3 How can i update Ambitorio?

(Android) Tap on “Play Store” and then go to “My Apps & Games”. Select Ambitorio and click the “Update” button. The app will then be updated to the latest version.
(iPhone) Tap on “App Store” and go to “Updates”. Select “Update” next to Ambitorio.

2.4 Can i use any email for the registration?

Yes, for the registration of the app you can use any email address.
However, to download the Ambitorio app you require a personal Google account or the Apple ID.

2.5 What do I need the 12 words for when setting up the app?

The 12 words belong to a new security system and are needed to restore access to personal data in case of device change or device loss.

2.6 Do I have an alternative to the 12 words?

No, unfortunately the new safety standard with Ambitorio requires these 12 words. We recommend to write down the 12 words and keep them in a safe place.

2.7 What happens if I lose the 12 words?

If this should happen, no existing data can be retrieved when the device is changed or the app is reinstalled.

2.8 What happens if someone else has my 12 words?

Provided that the person also has the other login information, that person can call up the existing data at any time on another device using the 12 words.
Therefore it is recommended not to save the 12 words as a screenshot or document anywhere digitally.

3. Contacts & Teams

3.1 How can I add a contact?

By clicking on [Contacts] I can add new contacts via [+ icon] using the Ambitorio ID.

3.2 How do I use [Teams] in the app?

All created teams and the corresponding contacts can be found in the [Teams] section under [Contacts]. This allows you to better manage the data exchange within the company or in relation to specific projects.

4. Send and Receive

4.1 How do I upload a file to share it?

Click on the [+ icon] in the menu and select a file. This file will then be locally encrypted and uploaded. Once the file has been uploaded, confirm it by clicking on [Activate File].

4.2 Why do I have to activate the file?

This is the first security request based on GDPR.
The activation takes place in the [Dashboard] by clicking on [Accept] at the corresponding file.

4.3 How do I create a [token] for a file?

After activation, switch to [Files]. Click on the uploaded file to open a small menu. Here you select [Add Tokens] and define the desired amount. With [Add] you confirm the creation of a [Token].

4.4 What is a [Token] in the app?

An access right is distributed with a [Token]. A contact who has received a token can retrieve the file once. If the token is used up by the recipient, access is no longer possible.
Similar to the activation, you have to accept the token creation in the [Dashboard].

4.5 Why do I have to confirm the creation of a [Token]?

This is the second security request based on the DSGVO.
The confirmation is done in the [Dashboard] by clicking on [Accept] at the corresponding action.

4.6 How do I select a contact?

In the [Files] menu, select the file and click [Send File] to choose a contact.

4.7 Can I send a file to multiple people?

As soon as a contact has been selected, you can select further contacts with [Send to another user] provided that there are enough [Token] left.

4.8 Can I share a file with someone who doesn’t have an Ambitorio account?

No, files can only be shared via Ambitorio services and this requires an Ambitorio account.

4.9 Why can’t I upload my file?

The file size must not exceed 50 MB at the moment. However, this can change in the course of time.

4.10 Why do I need to confirm sending the file?

This is the third security request based on GDPR.
The confirmation is done in the [Dashboard] by clicking on [Accept] at the corresponding action.

4.11 Is the app the only way to share a file?

No, if you have created an Ambitorio account for the app you can also use our web client.

5. Ambitorio Web Client

5.1 What is the Ambitorio web client?

The Web Client is intended for use on PCs and laptops. In order to use the Web Client, you must log in with the same information that you use for the app.

5.2 Can I use the Web Client without the app?

No, the security requests based on GDPR still have to be confirmed via the app.
This also prevents that no files can be distributed in case of unauthorized access to the web client. 5.3 What is the advantage of the Web Client?
The Web Client is intended for use on a PC or laptop and contains all functions of the app but with the help of mouse and keyboard, files can be managed much more conveniently.
Additionally you get the possibility to create and manage your own teams.

5.4 How do I create a team?

Click on [People] get to access the contact overview. Its similar to the contact list in the app. On top of that list there is the “Teams” menu. Click on [+New Team] to create the first team.

5.5 How can I add contacts to a team?

If the team has been successfully created, add the desired contacts within the respective team by clicking the [Add Symbol] and the help of the Ambitorio ID or the name.

5.6 Can a team be deleted again?

Yes, the team leader or another team member with administrative rights can delete the team again.

5.7 Can I hand over the team to another person??

Any person with administrative rights can take over the leadership of the team.
